2017 Scouting For Food Drive
Have you ever felt hungry? What if you only ate once a day? Can you imagine how you would feel? Unfortunately, one in four children in the Ozarks has to face this reality. Every day families, children and seniors struggle with hunger right here in southwest Missouri.
Ozarks Food Harvest would not be able to serve 30,000 people across 28 Ozarks counties each week without the help of valued partners such as the Boy Scouts. That’s why we are so thankful you are participating in Scouting for Food! By collecting food donations in your neighborhood during March, you are helping Ozarks Food Harvest provide food to nearly 200 nonprofit organizations in southwest Missouri in addition to hunger-relief programs such as our Weekend Backpack Program, After-School and Summer-Food programs and the Mobile Food Pantry.
This is the 28th year for this drive and last year, scouts collected over 32,178 pounds of donations, providing more than 27,000 meals for friends and neighbors who might have otherwise gone without.

Rock'n Ribs Festival 2017
Each year the Ozark Trails Council participates as a volunteer organization at the annual Rock'n Ribs BBQ Festival in Springfield. This event supports several local children's charities in the Ozarks, including the Boy Scouts. This is not only a great, local event for the community, but can be a big help towards getting a Scout to summer camp at Camp Arrowhead this year. Come and volunteer, and we'll give you credit towards camp!
