Advancement
What??? Is that a new record for Eagles! Ask Nancy the next time you see her!!
Camping
Well summer is almost through and I hope everyone had a chance to get in their long term camping for rank advancement. The next event is the Camporall on October 1-3 in Springfield, MO. Please plan to attend as this is to commemorate the centennial of Scouts. Thanks to all who volunteer on all our events, for without you, the boys do without also.
Roundtable
This month is Tour Permits and Membership. Please plan to attend!!
Activities and Program
Many thanks to Mary Helen our activities chair who has worked all summer at Camp Arrowhead, and now is working as the registrar for the University of Scouting. WAY TO GO!
Finance
Has your unit had their Family FOS meeting? If not call Jerry ASAP and schedule.
Membership
I am asking everybody to please ask all your committee members, leaders, and volunteers in your troops and packs to attend August Roundtable. We will be discussing the Fall Membership drive. We want to make this our biggest year ever in recruiting. So we need to get everybody we can at Roundtable for training.
Chairman’s Corner
I hope everyone is having a great summer; can you believe it is almost time for school again? This is the time of year we always try to “grow” scouting. That is great but I would like to ask; why wait till now? If you believe and love this program as I do why not work all year. Just a thought as I know lots of you do work without rest to grow. If you read the information in this letter you heard where a record is being broken; how about we take them all down. Let’s work this fall to grow more than ever before. We have more unit commissioners then I have seen since I have worked with the district. Our training chair is working hard to get everyone possible trained, how about we help him make as close to 100% as possible. Want to see my nonstop requests for FOS from me come to a halt? Help us get to our goal! Camping has looked good for so long as we have had multiple years in a row were all of our district events have been sponsored by units all throughout the district. From Marshfield, Bolivar, Conway, Stockton, Lebanon, Morrisville and others you all have made these a success. WHO WILL BE NEXT? Let’s finish this year the way we began, on top. Let’s also remember we do this, the boys! Oh yea, congratulations to Jerry and Christy Gardner on the birth of their daughter.
Let me know where I can help.
