It has come to our attention that it seems some units are reporting they have secured locations to sell when in reality they have put together a list of locations they plan to sell, but have not actually secured them by contacting the store manager and getting on the calendar. Please do not take this approach. Our fear is that by doing so, some locations will not get secured, and the opportunity will be missed by all. Good intentions to secure a location to sell, does not sell popcorn.
When securing locations to sell, please request the store management take your name, phone number, and unit number. Also request that if there is a problem, contact you directly, and you will remedy the problem. Management should be receptive to this and appreciative, helping keep the window open for future sells. Please do not report you are selling at a location until this step has been completed. Please also report specific times and dates for each location.
Thank you to all that have accurately reported your selling locations. I think this has headed off some problems. Please continue to do so, in order to attempt to maximize our sells, thus maximizing the impact the BSA can have on the youth in our community.
2. 72 pallets of popcorn will be delivered to the Harley Davidson Store on Hearnes Blvd. in Joplin on Wednesday. They will be staged there on Wednesday in preparation for the POPCORN SORTING PARTY that will commence beginning at 1 PM on Thursday afternoon and go until we are done somewhere around 5 PM. Drinks and snacks will be provided! We have access to the building until 7-8 PM if we need it. If you or your unit comes to the POPCORN SORTING PARTY YOU CAN TAKE YOUR PRODUCT WITH YOU ON THURSDAY AND NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT COMING BACK ON FRIDAY! THIS IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT OF SPACE THAT WE HAVE TO STORE THE PRODUT. If you are going to bring kids with you on Thursday, if you can’t get to the location between 3 and 4 PM, it may not be worth your trip there other than to get your product which wouldn’t be fair to those that took the time to separate it.
3. I need to know BY WEDNESDAY at 8 AM whether you are going to help on Thursday or if you are coming on Friday. If you are coming Friday the hours are from 9 AM-6 PM and I need to know when we can expect you to arrive so that we can make every effort to have your product near a door for your loading purposes.
Lastly, please be patient as we are working with a different location this time and things may run different than they have in the past. Our goal, with your cooperation, is to make this as smooth as possible.
